For something that's supposed to be the ending of a series, there sure are a lot of loose ends left to tie up. Also, this was supposed to be Hannah and Michael's book, but they got maybe 5 pages together. I was excited to enter the world of the Merricks again but now I'm just upset with how things ended up and ended kinda sloppy.

I expected a lot more from the conclusion of this thrilling series! I really feel like this could have been so much more than what it actually turned out to be. I absolutely love this series and it pains me to not have liked it as much as I'd hoped. I still love all the characters (however I lost a bit of interest in Hannah in this book), and I loved getting Michael's POV after how it all started for me with Elemental but it all felt so...emotionless. A bit of a disappointment...

It was good. Not the best in the series but good. The twists and action was good. Just for me a little too much doom and gloom. At least Hannah and Micheal worked out and the brothers are all alive. All the other stuff piled on was a bit much. So its really between a 3 and 4
I'm hoping there is going to be another installment at some time because this one just kind of ended abruptly.
It definitely could have done with an epilogue, was left a bit unsatisfied.
3.5 stars
oww..my heart. My poor little heart. This book was heart wrenching at moments and it pulled at my heart strings almost all throughout. I'm pissed over Kemmerer doing that one thing she did towards the end and was so dismissive about it. No emotions over that event at all. It happened in a flash and didn't even give me time to grieve. I'm taking half a star entirely cause of that otherwise it would have been a 4. Overall, this book reminded me why I keep coming back to this series. Even though there wasn't any new addition to the plot line or anything too interesting, it had me hooked from the start so there's that.

I was so excited for Michaels book! I knew it would be as good as it was. I love how through everyone's story coffee solves everything. Michael is protective of everyone. He cares so much. Hannah is sweet and honest. Being a young mom isn't easy but she tries and it shows. Both of them together is beautiful! I needed that. I laughed so much and I cried as well because how can you not with this story. It ended well but I needed more. There could have been a whole sixth book with what was left unsaid. This is still an amazing series!
Reviewing Sacrifice isn't easy for me. I had such high expectations and Brigid Kemmerer totally let me down. Everything the previous novels had been working up to - the entire point of the series - wasn't even mentioned in this book and half the characters didn't even appear. The fate of one of the character's came out on nowhere and didn't get a reaction from anyone. Really, Brigid? I expected more from Sacrifice, I expected more from you. You're so much better than this novel and I'm disappointed that this is how the series is going to end. I don't mind sad endings if there's closure, but here? Sacrifice practically ended in the middle of a scene. In fact, I thought it was the middle of a scene: when I went to the next page I was shocked to discover I had finished the book. My e-ARC of Sacrifice is 424 pages. The book ended on page 274. Those other 150 pages? Reprintings of the novellas. The novellas that were in the previous books. I don't know what was going on with this book - I know Brigid has a new baby, maybe that played into it? - but Sacrifice was a total letdown.
