I don't know how she does it, but Gabaldon manages to make both nothing and everything happen in 900 pages. Enjoyable, but this is clearly leading up to a bigger and juicier conclusion.

Great cast of characters.

Galbaldon has done it again. She draws you into a world filled with interesting people that you care about. The writing is sharp
and fast paced for a book approaching 1,000 pages. Dread the thought of waiting for the next installment. I have read each of the first eight books twice, but find the Outlander world soothing whenever I enter it.

I really enjoyed this book in the series and it felt like it read a lot faster than the other books. Maybe that’s because I often listened to it while stuck nursing and nap trapped? Either way, I liked that while all of the families were finally reunited and together, they still had time to develop their own stories too. I wish the plot line about why Bri and Roger left had a little more in the book than at the very end…but I’m assuming that will be tied up in the next book? I did go into this book thinking it was the last in the series and was surprised to see a big cliffhanger at the end. I’m hoping the next (and rumored to be the last??) book will be here soon!

Enjoyed this very much. One of my favorites of the series. Looking forward to the series finale when the 10th and final book comes out

2021: SO worth the wait!

2022: I have not changed my mind. Reread #1 done already.
