J’aurais teeellement voulu accrocher davantage ! Mais la vérité c’est que ce livre n’a pour ainsi dire pas de plot… Il y a un semblant de rebondissement vers 95%, qui certes a fait monter ma tension, mais sur un pavé de près de 1000 pages c’est loin d’être suffisant…

Il est certain que l’autrice a su créer des personnages qu’on aime aussi suivre dans leur quotidien, dans les aspects de leur vie les plus banals, mais je me suis retrouvée à m’ennuyer un peu trop souvent durant ma lecture. Il y a beaucoup de small talk, ou au contraire de grandes discussions un peu philosophiques. Et ce n’est pas du tout rééquilibré par de l’action… J’avais l’habitude d’une saga bourrée de détails parfois insignifiants, mais l’autrice parvenait toujours à créer des moments forts qui maintenaient l’intérêt du lecteur à flot. Ça n’a pas été le cas ici, et je crois qu’il serait temps de conclure cette belle aventure. Peut-être puis-je espérer enfin un grand final le jour où le tome 10 sortira ?

I read a review of this book yesterday. She basically said, books 1-3 of this series were full of great scenes with some filler in between ,and Bees is a lot of filler with some great scenes in between. That's all you need to know about this book. Oh,and there will be at least one more in the series. It dawned on me that I've spent over 30 years waiting for the next book. Will I live long enough to close out this series? And do I even care anymore? I was as rabid a fan as you could get back in the 90s,but now I'm ready to give up. I had flashbacks of plodding through The Fiery Cross this past week. It really pains me to say this was just as boring,and that makes me so sad.

I loved this book! sad and happy to have finished the series, either way, looking forward to seeing how the series will end whenever the 10th book comes out!
