This is such a creative and powerful way of explaining Ephesians 6 (the armor of God). It's a great book for kids. If you like Chronicles of Narnia or Shark Boy and Lava Girl, then I think you'd like this.

I audiobooked this to see if my six year old might enjoy it as a read aloud... and I do think he would! Fantastical otherworld adventures with danger and armor, brotherhood and friendship... and the audiobook is very well dramatized!
The plot was a little too simplistic for me to really love, with character building that I wish went a little deeper and allegory that's a bit too obvious... And I wish there was a bigger, overall arc that sort of tied things together more smoothly and gave the story a more clear destination.
But still: it would be a fun story to read aloud for boys in particular, with some good character lessons along the way. We'll see if my son gives it more stars than I did!

We read this as a read aloud with Jackson, and I didn’t love it. It’s a series, and we decided to put it on pause. We loved the concepts of armory and blind faith, but it dragged on quite a bit. Going back and forth between worlds showed some good parallelism, but made the plot suffer.

This a great book for kids. It helps give an adventure/fantasy setting to explaining our spiritual armor and all that entails. My daughter has read all 4 and enjoyed them, so I decided I wanted to see why she enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this book. It is definitely aimed at a younger audience and had some moments where the story dragged. That being said as a christian I enjoyed reading and seeing the connections the author made with our spiritual lives and the world within the book. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I loved this book! It's a fun fantasy of sorts that reminded me a lot of the Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Awesome. For all ages
I bought this for.my nephew after reading on my kindle. If is a good book for all ages and boys and girls. Easily relatable characters and great lessons entwined in great adventures. My 8 yr old daughter loved listening to the story

I didn’t know it was an allegory… my little sister loved it and I thought it probably did what it set out to do. But the allegory was a little heavy handed for me.
