An entertaining read. I don’t think it’s the strongest book in the series, but that could be because I’ve read a couple others in quick succession and they feel pretty similar to each other. If I’d read this one first I might think it was the better in comparison. Either way, it’s still a good book with an engaging story.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Obsessed. There's nothing I would change because it was perfection (must read + reread)

He wasn't just Grae's brother's best friend; there was a time when he was hers too. However, he disappeared when she needed him most. Now, Caden is back with his cocky smirk, and she can not ignore him any longer. Grae has a crazy ex and Caden's calculating father, Caden suggests they pretend to be madly in love. The only problem is that Grae's feelings Caden are genuine, and the touch of his lips ignites an undeniable flame. As they pretend moments turn real, someone is watching, unhappy about Caden's new role in her life, ready to do anything to tear them apart.

Grae has always felt controlled by her brothers because they view her as weak. She wants to show them how strong she is but Caden has always treated her like an equal even when she was a little girl. They were always a duo and she was so broken after he left. Now seeing them heal was soo freaking sweet and Grae really got what she deserved. Now on the other hand my poor sweet Caden he did not deserve the hand he was delt brother and dad were awful. Naturally, after losing his sister and Grae's accident he was so emotionally damaged and couldn't let anyone in. Grae was always his compass guiding him home.

Tropes: brother's best friend, fake dating, romantic suspense, its always been you
Triggers: abusive family, stalking, death of a sibling

What can I say I’m a sucker for Catherine cowles books sue me. Grae and Caden were fun and amazing to read. I loved watching Caden grow and mature into doing what was best for him and it was the highlight of this book. Feeling suffocated by your family wanting to help you is definitely so true and I’m happy Grae stands her ground on wanting to control her life. I will say though that if someone steals your pajamas and your brother is a cop it might be a bright idea to tell him and not keep it to yourself.

The plot twist had me stunned because I fully thought our villian was Jordan but turns out it was a bigger nut job than I imagined. At this point the FMC’s of this universe are never going to catch a break
