It dragged towards the end of the book, but it was pretty good other than that. Gothic and intriguing, I can’t say I had a bad time.

I listened to the audiobook and Mara Wilson was absolutely phenomenal as a narrator. 

The book itself was solid--for me it slowed down in the middle but when things clicked together in the last third, that was great

Really loved the way this turned into a thriller from the horror of a sleepy seaside town with too much history involved. Would make an excellent beach read, especially if you’re staying in a haunted light house
