started off a little slow, but then i couldn't put it down. wouldn't say this fits the thriller genre necessarily, but it definitely had me hooked. the ending felt a little rushed and one particular plot point felt a bit unnecessary for the purpose of the story. definitely check the content warnings before you read this because it deals with many heavy topics in graphic detail, but this was a very captivating, powerful, and tense read!

I loved the writing and atmosphere of this, but I guessed the big reveal within the first fifty pages.

This book buried its claws in me and I finished it in two sittings. And though I devoured it quickly I know it’s a book that will be with me for some time. I just can’t shake it.

The multiple perspectives, perfect. The twist? Perfect. I really enjoyed this book, and I love the authors writing style so much! A little tame for what I look for in horror, but a good read nonetheless.

The concept and the writing are brilliant but I don’t even know if I LIKED this?? I haven’t been this conflicted in a long time. I truly don’t know how I feel.

(Wish I would have read this during Spooky Season)

I can see why this book has great reviews- it's complicated, well researched and has a great twist. However, this was almost a DNF for me, I just wasn't sure I would be able to get past reading from a religious cat's perspective. I think if I had been forced to read this in school or had chosen it for a book report I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

It's not a bad book, it just wasn't for me.
