This was a mildly interesting graphic novel about witches who get their power from the length of their hair. Like most graphic novels, it's hard for me to connect to the characters. I think the concept of this is interesting and I like the art style, but I didn't feel any real connection to the characters or the story. Honestly, I didn't really understand what was going on by the end or where the main character was coming from. I'm not sure I will continue this series. However, I will add in that my daughter who is 12 seems to really like it and has read it several times already.

I debated between 3 & 4 stars so technically it’s 3.5. I’m intrigued by the lore and curious to see where the story is going. However, I felt like something was missing but I can’t quite put my finger on it. I think I would have liked there to be more development of the character relationships or more scenes shown between the main character and others.

LOVED this! This was a beautifully illustrated graphic novel which a super intriguing story! I absolutely love the world and it sucked me in right from the beginning. This is just volume 1, and I know that I can continue reading it online (it's a web-comic), but I hope that they continue to print other volumes so that I can have them in my collection. For now, I will immediately continue reading it online here: https://www.witchycomic.com/

The magic system was so unique.
I liked this story. I wasn't the biggest fan of the art. My favorite character was Prill, I'd love a book about her and her story and her life. Also a sequel to this book wouldn't be so bad because.. the ending.
It was a nice graphic novel, that was a fast read.

Thanks to Lion Forge for providing a review copy.
I enjoyed this fantasy graphic novel about Nyneve, a young witch in a world where magic is power-- and danger. Nyneve's father was murdered by the authorities for being too powerful, and as a young woman graduating from school, Nyneve must decide whether to join those authorities in the army, or keep her distance. I was a bit confused by the idea of hair length as an indicator of magic, because it sometimes seemed to equate to actual magic power, and other times only to magic potential. It's also unclear why powerful witches don't simply trim their hair down. Still, the long hair of the characters made a clear visual, and the art style kept each character distinct so that I could easily follow the story.
Overall, a strong magical tale in a distinct fantasy world for older middle grade or young adult readers.
