This one didn't draw me in as much and seemed a bit long and not very suspenseful. It was still pretty good and gave more insight into the regular cast of characters though, especially Gamache's dad who hasn't really been mentioned much until this one.

Didn't love it but I'm on to the next one with the hope it'll pick up the pace again.

Armand Gamache goes on vacation - and this feels like a vacation from the usual Armand Gamache story. The end felt rushed, and the first 80% of the book too slowly paced. Even still, I love this series and I’m looking forward to book 5!

Louise Penny never fails to satisfy!

Another tightly plotted mystery, but like with the others in the series, it’s the depth of the characters and getting to know the recurring ones better that makes this excellent.
