It took a bit of time to get to the actual murder. Still, I enjoyed getting the backstory on Peter (a character that I haven't liked)--although I felt like his treatment was both too harsh and then too easy. I'm curious how his character is presented going forward. Altogether, I feel like the series is picking up and I'm excited to keep reading through it.

I have to say I miss these people after I finish a book. Good thing I still have a few to go.

I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the others, but I think that was mostly because I was distracted by also reading Harry Potter at the same time. What can you do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My favourite of the series so far. Loved the setting. Some interesting twists and turns.

Another wonderful reread, Dad the next bill isn't available right away from my library.

Strong addition to the Inspector Gamache series! So much mystery and so much to uncover. I really loved a few ideas the book shared. We also learn more about Armande’s past and Peter Morrows past. I suggest reading the other books first so you know the characters and can better grasp the story.
