Strong addition to the Inspector Gamache series! So much mystery and so much to uncover. I really loved a few ideas the book shared. We also learn more about Armande’s past and Peter Morrows past. I suggest reading the other books first so you know the characters and can better grasp the story.

What can I say? I really like Louise Penny's Chief Inspector Gamache mysteries. For this genre, the characters are quirky and interesting, and Gamache's team is pretty great. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Gamache is staying at a lodge for his anniversary, Peter and Clara are there.  Peter's family is having a reunion.  Peters sister is murdered, Gamache and his team work to identify the suspect.  Overall, a good Gamache story, but Peter's family is so toxic that at times I didn't want to keep going with the story - Peter himself was so awful to Clara when around his family (never standing up for her) - but I wanted to know who the murderer was and I like Gamache, his wife, and team so I finished.  Overall a good read.
