Not quite as good as the original, but I still really enjoyed it. I felt like Gemma wasn't as innocent or naive as she should have been for someone without any true life experience & I really didn't like some of the changes, although I did appreciate the more mature approach to the story - it helped to make the characters a little more relatable for me. Although, if I didn't read the original, I'm not sure how invested would be, as this book seemed much shorter, giving less time to really have all the characters fully develope. Overall, as a re-imagining of the original, I really liked it. Looking forward to the next one.

i have things to say!!! this is the adult version of the fallen star, which basically means more swearing and sexual content. it also changes a few of the minor plot points around though too! it keeps the same story but makes it so it’s still interesting and not just a copy of the other version but with sex.
i actually really enjoyed this!!!
now onto the differences
the sexual content and tension with alex and gemma adds to their relationship heavily! it really shows the complicated nature and intense want. the only thing i’d say is that the point of them not being able to get close that is made more important in later books is kinda lost if they get so close so early on.
laylen is a lot more flirty and as a laylen simp i like it-
nicholas….he’s worse. the sexual content allows for him to not be a mischievous inappropriate guy, but instead a true pervert who harasses gemma and touches her not consensually,,, gross.
overall!! good book!!! excited to read more!!!

I am very torn with his book. At times I felt like skimming parts of it but other times I was interested in what was going on. I think my main problem was not really liking the main character, Gemma. She just acted very strangely to things and seemed to lust after any male she met. I just couldn't figure her out. I am curious how the story will continue so I might check out the second book when it comes out.
Pretty much how I feel about this book: Meh. I haven't read The Fallen Star, which I suppose this is like a retelling of, so I didn't have much to compare it to. I have only read one other book by this author, which was also only alright. The premise of the book sounds great, and there was really so much potential here. However, it fell really short of any excitement I had built up.
The main character was whiny, uber-emotional, and a freaking drama queen. I know she just got emotions, and so probably can't control them very well, but she was exhausting. Alex was.. I'm not sure how I feel about Alex. Mostly annoyed, but I did kind of like him (go figure). The romance would have been good, if the author could write. I was so turned off by the way she wrote that I couldn't even really enjoy any of the romance, or story for that matter. Can people please stop using the phrase, "I crashed our lips together."?? Please, that just sounds painful, not romantic. If the writing had been better, I might have liked the book a bit more, but as it is, it was pretty terrible. I skimmed the last 75 pages or so, which I hate doing, but I just wanted to finish it and be done. I liked some of the other characters, such as Laylen, but they didn't get enough space in the story.
I also felt like the author put way too much into this book. She couldn't just stick with a fallen star (which I think she could have made a great story with), but she had to go and throw in witches, vampires, werewolves, and everything else even remotely paranormal. Overload! That was also a huge drawback to the book. There were a lot of things that went unexplained (I guess maybe they will be explained in the sequel) and a lot of things that just didn't really fit into the story. I'm still confused about the whole power of the fallen star thing! Why is the fallen star powerful? What kind of power? What is so important about it? I'm just glad this book was free on my nook, or I would be kind of upset over spending money on it. I'm probably not going to read the sequel, as there are way too many books out there that are more worth my time.

OK! I liked it. It started to get better and a lot of my questions did get answered. A lot, not all. Which means, now I feel compelled to read the sequel.
I am not normally a paranormal fan...but this book seemed to be different for some reason. I did enjoy it a lot.
There was a lot of tension in it and it felt like it was mostly setting the stage for the next book, which is fine. I just wish I had the next book now!

loved this book! I think this version was better than the original...impatiently waiting for book 2
Really enjoyed this! I used to read a lot of paranormal and then I fell out of it. I loved the Coincidence of callie and kayden so I was excited to find this one. It was different and interesting from the very beginning. The descriptions are so vivid, I could almost feel the prickles and electricity. Alex was hotness, though the hot and cold was a little frustrating because it took a while to understand the exact history and all. My only real issue was the way some of the story unfolded, like characters just explaining and asking and answering...sometimes for whatever reason that just pulled me out like I was losing momentum. Overall super liked it! Can't wait to read the next one! Can always count on the author to give you an emotional, well developed and original story!
What's up with me and e-books lately? I super enjoyed this, much better than Prince of Wolves. I'm debating about reading the second one though....
