Ugh, I had to call it quits after reading about half the book. The plot was going nowhere (I'm not even sure there was a plot, to be honest!), the characters were hard to relate to, and there was no flow or cohesion to the storyline. There were many times I had no idea what was happening! Hints would be dropped, but never elaborated on, and eventually I just did not care to find out what was going on.
This is also one of the few times where I have absolutely DESPISED the main character, and I do not use that word lightly. Gemma gets into some stupid situations frequently, and her responses are far from believable. She's snarky to the point of being annoying, she can't make up her mind about anything, and she seems to have no morals (at least where guys are concerned). While she is interested in one guy, she has no problem getting physical with another. Classy. The main love interest, Alex, was such a douche, and when you put Gemma and him together, it was a hot mess. I'm actually proud of myself that I was able to handle reading about half of this story.

It's getting hard for me to weed through a bunch of mediocre works to find that one diamond in the rough, and this story was definitely not a gem.

In many ways I liked it better then the original...it went more in depth confirmed my theories and there was more romance...but there def was more action plot in original..guess that was the balance w. the romance

This was different than the books I've previously read. I haven't read anything really sci-fi since the Beautiful Creatures series. I did like this though.
That cliffhanger was not fun. I need to know what happens! And where are Laylen and Aislin? Ugh. I can't take this suspense.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I had no idea it was a paranormal book but I was pleasantly surprised and could not put it down. I friggin loved Alex and I hope he's still a major part in the sequels. Highly recommend reading this & cheers to Jessica Sorensen your story was original and very enjoyable. Loved this book!
Ok. So definitely better than Fallen Star. It may be same plot and characters but its so much better with grown up Gemma and Alex it really give sense to the story (and I'm not saying that Fallen Star did not made sense) it gives the story what it needed. The twist was a really great idea. Totally waiting for book #2 in this series.
