not exactly what i expected...nevertheless it was an easy read that is done in one sitting, even faced paced somehow. considering several summaries, i imagined a more philosophical view or even some discussions about our general priorities in life or thoughts while doing a boring job etc. i kept reading waiting for the turn but it didnt happen...all a mere talk about, literally, washing and drying the dishes.

This was surprisingly charming, and very useful. I think I’m going to have to get my own copy and reread it now and then for motivation.

This was not at all what I expected. For some reason I thought this was a philosophical approach, but it was literally a guide to do the dishes. To be fair, you could glean some insight on how to approach problems, but overall, it's repetitive and could be easily cut in half.

Eh, I get it - the concept and how some would appreciate this book. But I didn't.

Eh, not that worth reading but a good distraction. Some of the advice was largely inefficient and a waste of time like rinsing dishes of food before putting in dishwasher (pretty sure leaves soap with less to cling to), and not putting bowls in dishwasher at all :/

You are, in a way, running an airport, and there are many planes that need attention: some are waiting to land, some are overloaded, some need to be cleaned and serviced, and others need to take off... The sink and the bowl are your control tower. There will be times of some crisis, and it is your task to find the ways through and to keep the system up to speed and functioning efficiently. The order will protect against accidents.
The premise of a book on washing dishes is somewhat ridiculous, somehow captivating, altogether... great?
Bordering on pretentious, hedging on philosophical, uncertain if meaningful. Miller calls a dish towel a “scarf,” a kitchen “an operating room,” and an omelet “a card trick.” This is one of the books of all time. I don’t know if I recommend this book, but it is now on my favorites shelf. So... yeah.
