"This has always been your town in a way it never was for me; you never tried to find a life, you were in the right place from the start."
This was so short and yet it was so sad?? Fredrick Backman has a great talent for making things so sweet and tender and then completely heartbreaking. I love it so much.

ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴀᴜᴛʜᴏʀ ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴛʀᴜsᴛ? ——————————————— There’s a little girl with cancer. There’s a woman with a folder. There’s a son with a letter. There’s a man who is about to make a deal. A life for a life. Normally, this is not my sort of book. Because heavy emotions are something I deal with enough in real life, and I don’t read for that. But this book was short and sweet. Beautiful words where it’s almost more like a form of poetry. I trust Fredrik Backman more than any other author. He takes hard things and with his beautiful words he always teaches me about the world and about myself. For these reasons, I trust him with the hardest feelings and this is truly the highest compliment I can give. He hasn’t betrayed me yet ❤️emmalynette's review against another edition

I listened to this audiobook on my drive to family Christmas and I think that will become a tradition. It was a wonderful one to listen to (and production was great) and is both simple and complex. There’s a lot of wisdom and quoteworthy content in this novella. It really added to my holiday season though it isn’t exactly holiday themed (despite what the cover might suggest).
Moderate: Cancer and Death
