I think this book is truly a representation of people who grow up together and have feelings for each other but don’t ever let themselves have what they want. Sometimes it’s too late to make it work, but this book shows that people with a true connection will always find their way back to each other (which makes me wonder if that’s why she left the ending the way she did). I personally think the ending is saying that their paths will collide again at some other point in life (much like the limited series “One Day” on Netflix). I think it is a very good, although frustrating read, and maybe I’ll need to read it again to see if I feel differently. I wish there was a climax to the book (or an ending), but it all just seemed very normal (which, again, maybe she intended it to be that way).

sometimes this book felt so real to how i feel about the world that i felt physically nauseous but it was a great read

"All these years they've been like two little plants sharing the same plot of soil, growing around one another, contorting to make room, taking certain unlikely positions. But in the end she has done something for him, she's made a new life possible, and she can always feel good about that."

Ouch.
