I love listening to memoirs narrated by the author, there's something so deeply felt in their voices about their experiences. I was initially jarred at the level of crassness that Youngmi has, but I quickly loved how quick she was and how her voice really shone.

Honestly, I was ready to be critical of this book, but the last quarter of it was so moving and funny and poetic and wise and devastating and crazy that I just fell in love.
She writes like she talks and it’s really fucking funny but sometime abrasive. But that’s kind of her thing. Incredibly woven together and entertaining and enlightening

I really enjoyed Youngmi Mayer's voice and her story was remarkable.
She tells of being born to an ambitious immature Korean mother and an unsettled immature American father. Raised in Korea, she looked too white to fit in but knew she wasn't white enough.
She says outrageous things that made me laugh out loud. A solid memoir.
