This entire book series is fluff, but I swear it is not as fluffy as the Hallmark Channel series is. I mean, any book that starts with a dead body falling out of the sky should be ashamed of itself!
Right now I am going through a "cozy mystery" phase and when that happen I know the best thing to do is just go with it and burn myself out, but in the mean time prepare for more books like this nonsense in my reading list!

Tbh I like these books because they're short, reasonably interesting mysteries with reasonably interesting prose. Maybe I just don't get the American South but the hangups around black characters are pretty weird and uncomfortable. This is something that was present in the previous books but got ratcheted up a knot in this book. Bc these books are comfort reading (or rather listening) for me I'm not overly critical of them (though I'm not a critical reader usually tbh) but I'm hoping that the author manages to figure out her race relations issues cause I might have to discard the series

I'm sure it was common in the time this book was written, but I didn't like the descriptions of people, mostly the color of their skin.
Another hole filled in for this series.

Usual grumbles and praises for this author (see my other reviews from this series). I will however say that I don't think the "bad guy" in this book makes sense. A guy who Roe has almost no interactions with, and no real explanation why Paul and Sally divorced. There were one or two other people who would make more sense as the killer in the story.
