A solid 3.75 stars.

Though this is a very old book (published 1890's), this felt so 'new' compared to some of the latest books i've been reading.

I really enjoyed this, its a story that doesn't take itself too seriously - a propsterous idea with a compelling narrative and the life of an invisible man.

I will definitely be reading more H.G Wells in the future.

I rather enjoyed this story. It kept me interested and thinking. It was fun to think what I would have done in this situation, cuz really, who hasn't ever thought about being invisible?

This book was my first introduction to H.G. Wells and I loved the slow burn of how Wells reveals the reality of the invisible man's appearance (or lack thereof) to both the reader and the other characters. I was not, however, expecting to be as scared of him as the characters are in this book. Overall very clever and very weird.

After absolutely loving "The Time Machine" and moderately loving "War of the worlds", I'm sad to say I didn't love this at all.
The story, although very short, was really tedious and by the time I got to the last chapters, that should have been the climax, I just couldn't wait for it to end. Yes, this book is probably responsible for planting the idea of an invisible person in our culture, and I suppose that this deserves some credit, but I just couldn't connect to it in any way. And being a total highlighting freak ever since I started using Kindle, it surprised me to realize that I didn't highlight anything at all in this. The writing just feels empty of emotion and complexity. But well, I guess you can't expect all books to be great, just be extra thankful when they are.
