I had no idea what this book or series was about when I first started (I don’t even remember how I stumbled upon this book) but I am so glad I did. The beginning had me absolutely wheezing because dang these women figuring out about their husband/boyfriend is crazy and I was dying the whole time, I like the dynamic between Naomi, Claire and Audrey. I really liked Oliver and Naomi, I think they developed a nice ‘friendship’ with each other but the tension was hot a heavy and it was very evident, I also like how Naomi somehow got someone she loves and a father figure to her.
This was my 100th read of the year!!!!
Things I liked:
- How booze out of a mug is their thing
- How he always tried to find a way to touch her by using her clothing lol
- When Naomi invites Oliver to stay for dinner
- Oliver used to call Naomi carrots, like from Anne of Green Gables.
- When he kissed her for the first time (it was definitely to have her thinking about the whole night during her date)
- When Naomi brought brunch to Oliver (my heart)
- I love how he continues to call her carrots because he finally understands the Anne and Gilbert reference
I didn’t say anything bad about third person point of view third person point of view is my friend
I really expected more because what sort of childhood enemies to lovers has a hero who doesn't even recognize the heroine???
I wanted more development, yes, but overall Naomi and Oliver were cute! I love that, despite some things, Lauren Layne somehow just knows how to create a hot, cute dude

lauren layne never disappoints, found family, funny dialogues, enemies to lovers and new york setting?? the best.
Naomi hates Oliver and his dad since childhood when they caused her and her mom to lose everything. Later when she's a successful business woman she movies in to be their new neighbor and find closure after her mom has passed away. But she finds out Oliver is changed after twenty years and she sees herself falling for him against her better judgment.

Naomi is so fierce, I adore her and her stubbornness, and Oliver was so charming all the time, they were great. I really thought Oliver would find out sooner who she was, his dad mentioned Naomi like twice I was "c'mon it's not possible that you don't remember her!!!"
As usual the best thing about this author's series are the friendships, I love the thhree girls so much already and how they chose to stood for each other even in those circumstances.
normally LL's books have some steamy scenes and this one didn't and it was just mentioned.. so yeah i was waiting for the smut. But the couple had a lot of chemistry tho. This is perfect if you love enemies to lovers, bot falls first and neighbors falling for each other.
