A fun historic paranormal read. I enjoyed the story but wasn’t the biggest fan of the character development and their relationships.

I started this book with my mind already made up that it was a slow romance book just like all the others. How we like usual the narrator Mary Jane Wells really brought this story up to the bar. I found myself many times while listening clutching the chair and gasping. Maybe because my hopes were already low, but the plot was unexpectedly twisty and exciting !
Graphic: Murder and Death
Moderate: Violence and Gun violence

When a stranger shows up on her doorstep asking her to solve the murder of her one-time friend by doing the one thing she swore never to do again—contact the dead—local London psychic Ellie must decide what lengths she's willing to go to. Everyone involved in this case seems to be hiding something, even from Ellie. Can she figure out who took her friend's life before she loses her own?
I'm conflicted about The Other Side of Midnight. I enjoyed the story, and the plot twist was fun. However, I did not enjoy the writing style much. That, paired with my dislike of the first-person point of view, lessened my enjoyment of the story. I also found that Ellie was a rather boring character. While I enjoyed the story and finished it to satisfy my curiosity, I doubt I will be revisiting Ellie's story in the future.
