I loved this book! It's tied closely with the first one as one of the best new children's books that I have read lately. I love the puzzles and riddles. I also love the honest way in which the kids' friendships are portrayed. Constance irritates Sticky, Reynie, and Kate but they let things go because after all, she is only four. I think this book really shows off each character's strengths although I would have loved to see some more puzzles embedded in the story. I really enjoyed the first book for that reason. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a good adventure story.

This was a nice ending to the series, even if probably wraps up a bit too tidily for some readers. For myself, I like a good happy ending, so I enjoyed it. My main nitpick with the book was the large role that telepathy plays in the plot, though I supposed it's not too far-fetched given the events of previous books. As usual, the Society members' various gifts each come into play at different points, though in this case their brilliance and bravery threaten to be their undoing. I like the balance in these books between puzzle solving and action, which again showcases how people can be exceptionally talented in a variety of ways, while also keeping the plot moving. I'm happy that Stewart was able to maintain the spirit and quality of these books throughout the trilogy, and I would definitely get this series for my kids.

Liked it just as much as the first two in the series. I think my favorite of all four books was The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict.

I will always love the Mysterious Benedict Society and the children and their stories. Although this story may feel a bit more contrived, it’s still a delightful and easy read; however, it does lack some of the excitement and puzzle of the first two books. It is still one of my favorites and such a comforting read for me.
