It was okay. I wish it wouldnt have brought in a love interest. He makes it so cringe. Had the same prob with the peculiar series

Ransom Riggs never fails to deliver an exciting, adventurous tale, and this is no exception. I cannot wait to see how this series unfolds. And the ending opens the door to so much possibility. I am truly excited about this series! When's volume 2 coming out?!

This is a decent adventure mystery with a retro vibe. For all its excellent world-building, it suffers from a weakly sketched magic system. Maybe that comes in later books? Don’t make me wait, I might now bother. I also felt the same confusion as with Miss Peregine’s - I’m not sure who this book is for. It’s oddly gruesome and has a lot of bad language for a YA book, but the characters are too adolescent for an adult story. Overall, the story has plenty of strangeness but not nearly enough wonder.

Sunderworld, Vol. 1 offers an intriguing storyline that hints at a richly layered world. While the pacing is on the slower side, the plot kept me curious enough to continue. I’m looking forward to seeing how things unfold in Volume 2.

I’m a little disappointed because I didn’t love this like I thought I would. It was fun but at the same time nothing really happened :/ I have faith that Mr. Riggs will pull through with the rest of the series though. Trust

The story is good. It was a little slow to get started but I eventually got into it. I can see it being an interesting movie. I will continue with the series when additional books are released.
