This book left a lot to be desired. By the end I had more questions than answers for any of the events. I also wish there was more depth to out main cast of characters, there was very little known about them out of their name. The ending also did the thing I hate most...

This book shattered me! I found myself in so many parts of this book it was beautiful and horryfing at the same time. Especially Benjis relationship to his mother resonated with me. It is another amazing book by Andrew Joseph White. Definetly read the content warnings first!

Finished this in one night at 3am because i could not put it down. I could not get enough of the horrifically beautiful writing and characters. Gay, trans, religious trauma-fueled, body-horror-filled apocalypse with biblically accurate angels? UH YEAH im gonna love it. I didn't realize how much I needed another book like Manhunt, queer apocalyptic romance really is my favorite genre.

Not for me, which makes me sad because the religious trauma + queer story should be right up my alley. I just found it very stereotypical, to the point one of the characters is described as having a "latinx face" ??? what does that even mean, Latine is not a race. Ugh.
Also yeah, it's YA so the writing is quite juvenile and made me cringe at times. Maybe I'm just too much of an old fart :(
