Props for the inclusivity and for the beautiful gory tale that stands as metaphor for religious bigotry and hate, and body dysmorphia, along found family and other pertinent themes. Entertaining and original.
I will definitely try more from the author.

I mean I flew through this book like a hot knife through butter. It was good! Cathartic, deliciously gory and also just well written. Definitely recommend.
Favorite Guy: I gotta say Benji. Love me a body horror monstrosity.

i may need to lay face down on the floor for a bit now

follow up: was listening to an interview with jane schoenbrun before i finished this book and am now thinking some vague and incomplete thoughts abt transness, dysphoria, & the horror genre

A good layered LGBTQ+ story set in a virus infested apocalypse. Reading it felt like you were in a video game-themed storyline like Resident Evil or The Last of Us with a religious cult spin.
