The Big Four is the worst Agatha Christie novel I’ve ever read. It’s not completely uninteresting, just jumbled and too grand in scope. Every chapter seems like a whole different adventure and lacks the slow burn mystery of her finer stories.

The concept alone of an organisation like “the big four” that Christie has come up with is so interesting and intriguing that the story around it naturally would be one of my favourites of her works.

One of her best in my opinion!!

A bit of a toxic friendship in this one - definitely couldn't hang with 'Murder on the Orient Express' as it made the world feel both too big and too small simultaneously.

The narrator was such a sad sap, and Poirot also seemed to gain some incredible powers! All for plot points that never seemed to be particularly impactful. More a series of little Poirot vignettes?

It’s a interesting and very well written book but, in my opinion, not the best Agatha has written, specially because it’s easy to notice that this book is a compilation of short stories she wrote.

Like always Poirot is a genius and we love that for him but i feel like, in this book, we don’t see that part of him that well. The ending was amazing like always and his trail of thought really impressed me but i just feel like everything had way to much fantasy. It’s more like an action spy book instead of a detectives one. Poirot fighting crime and being kidnapped a lot of times? this feels like James Bond. I feel like that’s why i didn’t give it a better rating.

Also, Vera Rossakof appearing was such a slay, we love a queen. This book has a better rating just because of that. And Poirot taking care of her baby? I can’t handle this

Very over the top villainy with plot twists I saw coming and others I didn’t.

Love a good mystery. This one was pretty quick and had a lot of layers. But once again Agatha Christie has racial bias. Not a fan of that.
