Maybe Agatha Christie woke up one morning and said, “I’ll write a James Bond novel with a not-so-subtle touch of Asian racism.” Genuinely surprised to find an Agatha Christie book I didn’t absolutely love.
Hopefully the next book in the series will be better!

Hugh Frazer, who plays Hastings in the Poirot series with David Suchet, narrates a bunch of these audio books and he is amazing. He is adept enough to speak in the character voice of Poirot and Japp, and all the other secondary characters. He is excellent! Brings the book to life. Although this book, as with some of Christie's other books is pretty racist toward the Chinese characters.
Definitely not Christie at her best. There were so many holes in this story that you could have written another mystery about them. This appears to be an attempt at spy thriller type mystery. She should stick to the characters and leave saving the world to others.

A decent book although there is a lot of casual racism towards the Chinese. More of a thriller than a whodunnit, I missed the big reveal you usually get with a Christie.
Nope. 3 stars solely because I enjoy the familiarity of Poriot novels. But this is not it. The plot is so over the top and convoluted, it just doesn't work to stuff this much in 200-odd pages.
