Although the plot was clever and the concept was interesting, it was strange to see Poirot in a 'cat and mouse' style chase novel rather than a mental mystery. Recommended but not if you're more used to classic Christie.

Not like the other Poirot books that's for sure! It was a wild ride, which I enjoyed although felt more like watching a Bourne film than reading a Poirot story...
Enjoyable books, however I believe that Agatha Christie may have taken elements from Sir Authur Cannon Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. However I really enjoyed this book and would love to see an adaptation made of it during current times.
From what I've read of Agatha Christie's Poirot, this by far, is one of my favourite stories. Hastings still annoys me with his ignorance but I suppose he is of good assistance and can be used as a great tool when it comes to influencing the Big Four's facts and ideas about Poirot. Excellent!
Hercule Poirot, our favorite Belgian detective, finds himself entangled in a global criminal investigation—possibly one of his biggest cases yet. As the story unfolds, we’re taken from one whodunit to another. Agatha Christie, in crafting The Big Four, intertwined twelve short stories into one narrative about four criminal masterminds who are nearly as clever as Poirot himself.
Why did I decide to read this book?
I recently started rereading—or, in this case, listening to—the Hercule Poirot novels in order, as I haven’t yet read them all. I was also delighted to find that many of the audiobooks are narrated by Hugh Fraser, who played Captain Hastings in the Agatha Christie's Poirot television series.
Paperback or audiobook version?
As a collector of Agatha Christie novels, I’d love to complete my collection, especially of the Hercule Poirot series. But as I’m reading through them again—and some for the first time—I decided to listen to the audiobook version. Many of these are narrated by Hugh Fraser (Captain Hastings) or even David Suchet (Poirot himself). I was instantly convinced to enjoy Poirot’s adventures in this format.
What did I love about this book?
Everything! There’s so much to enjoy about a classic detective story with such well-loved characters. This time, it’s even more complex, with multiple cases all connecting to The Big Four. Absolutely thrilling and exciting to read.
Would I recommend this book?
Yes! If you’re already a fan of Agatha Christie, the Hercule Poirot novels are a must-read. And if you enjoy detective stories with intelligent, entertaining characters, this is one you won’t want to miss.
