My extreme dislike for Emily and Spencer carried over from the show to the books. Other than those two it was a fun, quick read!

This was pretty much exactly like the first few episodes of the Pretty Little Liars show. From what happened in the barn all those years ago -> to when they found a body on Maya’s property. There were a couple bonus scenes here and there in the book that weren’t in the show. It was a fun read though. I’m excited for the rest of the series, to see if it’s as closely related to the show or not.

This really fell short of what I was expecting. The characters were all pretty terrible people. There was a lot of content around sex, which really bothers me with teenagers.
The promise of the mystery was really interesting, but after finishing this, I knew I didn't want to read the rest, so I looked up the ending and let's just say I'm really glad I didn't invest in all the books.

oh my god such a good turn your brain off read!! but i read the e book on libby in tandem with the audiobook and the ebook was edited at some point in the 2020s so it differs a bit. that was a little weird
