Well, at least we got some closure with this novella. But in my mind, I really don't see how these two warring states will co-exist despite the love between the heads. And even though they say they are building a palace, their capitals are still far apart. Will the location of the palace be strategic enough to counter any disputes that will arise from the former capitals? Then, how about the issue of an heir? Laurent doesn't want to continue his bloodline, anha then what about Damianos, does he? They can't get a surrogate (duH) so how will this work?

Man, even with this novella, I still have more questions than answers...............

They are so sweet, and seeing a happy and freely smiling Laurent is the best.

A must read to anyone whose finished the trilogy. After 3 books of heartache, political death traps, and war we finally get to see Laurent and Damen enjoy some R&R as Damen arrives to spend some quality time with our favorite Veretian prince at the Summer Palace. Pretty much the epilogue we all wanted!

This is a 30 page epilogue to the captive Prince trilogy.

And what 30 pages they are.... sigh

Laurent is in love and cute.
Damen is soft and enchanted.

They touch, they kiss, they make love and make plans for the future.

This novella made my heart happy.

"I was watching the road." - Laurent

"You were watching the road." - Damen

He was watching the road waiting for Damen!!! SWOON

Won't be writing a review on my blog for this as it was literally an epilogue. It's been a while since I read the books so I liked it but I think had I read this just after the books I would've liked it more.

‘The truth is you’re very sweet, aren’t you,’

sweet enough to cause cavities... (3.5)

Too sweet for my taste. I love [b:Captive Prince|9305362|Captive Prince (Captive Prince, #1)|C.S. Pacat|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1356028113s/9305362.jpg|14188292] for the suspense, the cleverness and the many, many “what ifs” & “could be’s” and the endless tension between Damen and Laurent. And what can I say, I miss all that.

That said, this is not a bad story. In fact, it’s one of the missing pieces many readers were looking for. It’s the fabric fanfics are made of; it actually gave me this fanfic feeling you have when someone gets it just right.

Are you courting me?’ said Damen.
He felt foolish with happiness. He knew courtship was new to Laurent, didn’t know why it felt so new to himself.
‘I haven’t done this before,’ said Laurent.

This had everything I wanted in it. It was amazing and now it's even more painful because I want more.
