I think this book is a great way in which children can let their imagination run wild.
This book was published in the 30's, clearly before he had fully found his voice and wild imaginary characters and themes. So ... nice, enjoyable but not up to the standard of books to come.
Typical Dr. Seuss silliness. A good example of how lies can get completely out of hand.
There is none of the silly words Dr. Seuss used in later works. I’m not surprised this is the first book Dr. Seuss published.

Unfortunately, like the Dad in the book, I had little patience for this outlandish story. This kid, Marco, is really turning minnows into whales.
I have... conflicting feelings about this book. Kind of disappointing, tbh.
