The plot is actually decent, in a hallmark kind of way.
What I cannot get over is the ridiculously immature way these grown men talk. Normalizing men being comfortable with emotion doesn’t mean they should talk like high school girls.

This book made me happy.
I laughed out loud. It also made me cringe at times at the blatant awkwardness of Christian's clumsiness. (I do not find that attractive or funny, but that's just me)
Home living with the guys and Aunt Aggy is so freaking charming in all the best ways... Things like the Taco hunt make their lives inspiring! A wonderful found family.
Emile and Christian are an absolute Joy, you cannot not fall for them both.
A really great feel good book.

“I smile and kiss him again, and again. The man who proved to me that I can be loved wholly, unconditionally, and that just because I don’t have the family I was born with, doesn’t mean I don’t have one at all.”
this was cute!!

This is a really cute and quick read.
I loved Christian and Emile, they were really cute together and I appreciated that there was no miscommunication trope. In fact, their great communication and chemistry was one of the best things about this book.
Apart from that, however, the story takes a turn and tries to create conflicts that really don’t need to happen. I mean, I would be totally content reading a book with subtle conflict and tension. But don’t make a “huge” conflict happen that is not only predictable and cliche, just for it to be resolved in the next chapter.
For this reason, the book was okay-good ish. It’s hella forgettable, fortunately enough, the roommates are so fun and I really can’t wait to see their stories since I already have a feel for their traits.

I don’t remember finishing this one tbh…. kindle says I finished it 🤷🏻♀️
It’s totally possible so I’ll trust the app - my memory is that bad…

Fake it till you make it
It started well, floundered a bit in the middle and then picked up in time for a great ending. Christian's humiliating clumsiness made me feel a little uncomfortable, but that's on me. He really was a total sweetie and Emile was glorious in his support of him

This was cute and I loved Christian’s roommates. Emile and Christian were a great couple who supported one another and could be their true self with, with no judgement whatsoever. That can’t be said about either of their families, excluding Emile’s sister.
- Rich X poor
- Fake dating/engaged
- Introvert X extrovert
- Cat dad
- Found family
- Problematic families
