I got my first Goodreads giveaway book. so exciting! I love that this is my first. The Aunt Dimity series is a lot of fun. This one is no exception, filled with charm, fun characters, and discovery. Lori is on the hunt, searching for someone in Dimity's past. Of course, the village and her family are there as well providing entertainment. So, lovers of Dimity, dig in!

I always enjoy books from this series. Light mystery and always a happy ending.

Not quite a 4 but definitely higher than a 3.

Now that Lori no longer has a wandering eye, corrected several books ago, I enjoy this series so much. It really fits the description "cozy mystery" and was a perfect read on a snowy winters day.

3.5 stars.

All the charm of the Dimity series is here: the quaint, close-knit village of quirky and colorful characters, the loving families, cozy conversations with a wise, but not all-knowing Dimity, and the attention to detail that, for the most part, adds a certain realism to the stretching-reality plotline.

Yet, there were a couple of aspects that hold me back from fully loving the story: Too much gossip, (as well as praise of that uncommendable habit), and that all the characters are white Christains.

Much better than the last couple of books. Atherton doesn't need to create hokey, cheesy mysteries, Aunty Dimity's story and the people of Finch are interesting enough. This book has much more of the charm of the first couple of books, which has kept be loyal to the series all these years.

I sat down this morning with this sweet book and could not stop till I finished it. Although I did not want to leave this delightful village of Finch . I have read this entire series and this is the best one in a while. I recently reread Aunt Dimity's Death because it had been about 15 years since I read it and I enjoyed it so much. It takes place in a very small village in the Cotswolds- which is a beautiful spot . The characters are so human , engaging yet rather quirky . I would love to visit this place and have a chat with Aunt Dimity.

This was my first Aunt Dimity book and I'm already in love with the characters, premise, and setting of the series. It's not often that you find a happily married mother as a heroine; that, and the fact that they're set in England, is what really attracted me in the first place.

This particular mystery was fun as my husband and I having a growing interest in archaeology having watched the first 15 seasons of Time Team on YouTube. Also set in England, the team is always finding neat artifacts like those involved in this story.

I love reading cozy mysteries but find it difficult to find clean ones. I picked this one up at our local library, taking a chance that it would be ok. I was pleasantly surprised as, for the most part, there wasn't much in it that was objectionable. After reading reviews on the series as a whole, it sounds like most are not murder mysteries and that most readers are finding them to be clean. I've got books one and two on reserve at a local library and will give them a go, too.

This is a simple and fun read. I came across this title at random and thought to try it out. But, I was pleasantly surprise by the creative spin on small town life and the characters. There is in fact a series and I will be going back to the beginning for more books.
