I maybe this is on me, but I expected this book to be a thriller? The “twist” if you want to call it that was obvious throughout the entire story. Perhaps my expectations were off, but while an intriguing story with a very likable characters (well the main ones), I didn’t find in particularly gripping and I wasn’t waiting to find out what happened next because I felt like I knew how it would play out.

I keep hearing that I "need to read Hepworth" so I gave this a try. It was ... good. Fine. It kept me turning the pages and I enjoyed the character of Fern. Was is predictable? Unfortunately, yes. I will likely try again with Hepworth but I'm not sure I am on the bandwagon yet.

Such a great read! I’ve read a few of Sally Hepworth’s novels now, and this has been my favorite by far. Really interesting and complex characters, and a plot twist towards the end. A bit of a slow start but very worth it. 10/10 recommend.

Read for book club. This was a really good read. I whipped through it very quickly as I couldn't put it down. The characters and storyline were very compelling. I also always enjoy a library as part of the setting. I enjoyed the contemporary feel to this book and even though it was neatly tied up, I also really enjoyed the ending. Definitely a good read that I look forward to chatting about with others :)
Excellent book about two adult sisters. I'm not even sure how to describe it without giving away the story because nothing is as it seems. I loved The Mother-in-Law by the same author.
***** spoiler alert******
The one thing I found concerning about this book is that the motive behind murder is once again a woman with infertility who is desperate to have a child. That was the case in The Mother-in-Law as well. It makes me wonder if that is a theme in her other books? I read The Mother-in-Law with a book club, but I'd be hesitant to suggest this book to that book club knowing there are women there struggling with infertility. This would make an excellent book club discussion book, though.
