"The Wife App" is a unique premise and does a solid job at exploring the mental/invisible load of women. While I enjoyed it I wasn't ravenous for more. Interesting and a little different, it's worth a read.

NetGalley provided the review copy in exchange for my honest opinion (thanks!).

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this AMAZING ARC!

Upon reading the synopsis, I knew that this was a book that I wanted to get my hands on quickly! I was enticed by the idea of women creating an app that matched "wives" with "spouses". The whole time I was reading, I kept thinking to myself that the mental load is in fact real (I just never knew what exactly to call it)! I also was feeling like this is something that I would sign up to work for. The fact that the story is told from 3 different characters is something that I love, and I really liked that Sophie, Madeline and Lauren had meet each other at different points in their lives, had things in common, but were radically different. I felt that it made more relatable.

I will definitely be looking for more books by Carolyn Mackler!

3.5 / 5 stars

The Wife App was a cute, empowering read that celebrated female friendships and not settling for less than we deserve. I really enjoyed hearing the story from the perspective of all three main characters. It made for a quick read and it kept the book flowing nicely.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.
