Very much a YA book and reads like it. As an adult, I found the beginning frustrating although Rosa's behaviour was plausible for a child her age. It picks up from there and was as delightful as this author's work always is.

However, am I the only person who found the solution to their problem rather cruel?

Everything T. Kingfisher writes I like. Of course, some more than others, but I’m happy to say this novel is one of the top 5. I loved everything about it. Rosita and her family, the world in which they live in, her friend and the adversaries they encountered.

I would love to read more stories that take place in this world, either about Rosa or anyone else we met in this book.
