I went into reading this book with great trepidation, because it seemed crazy to me that Elizabeth would have accepted Mr. Darcy's first proposal with all of the obstacles that were in their way. I did end up enjoying this book for the most part. However, it really bothered me that Elizabeth was so altered as to allow Darcy to be rude to her family for so long. It seemed by making that one change both of their characters were much altered for the course of the book. I did however, enjoy many aspects, especially how they were able to change the course of Lydia's life.
it is obviously not jane austen but if you are obsessed with pride and prejudice it is a very nice lecture- also it made me realise not only how important is that elizabeth says no the first time, but how much i like that she says no
