It read almost exactly like a self insert fanfic I read in 2008. I’m sorry it was so disappointing Elizabeth and Darcy were acting completely out of character, in a way that was completely jarring and unbelievable.

4 stars. When reading pride and prejudice, I didn’t really understand it and felt no emotions. This retelling helped me understand, in modern words, how exactly these characters were supposed to be viewed as. This brought butterflies to my stomach reading their interactions and wa sober all a please y and enjoyable read.

This retelling squeezed my dear heart!!! I loved every moment of it. The author’s voice was so of like of Austen’s. The banter she wrote between Darcy and Lizzie was perfection, and the nods to the original text—ugh!—the whole thing was so well done. If you’re a Pride and Prejudice fan, this is a must read.
