I loved this storyline. It was so hard to put this book down. From the way Elle and Landon met. To their grief they worked through together. Add Stella into the picture. This book helped me grow and feel all their pain, love and grief. I highly recommend this book.
4.75 ⭐️
This might be my favorite book of the series so far. There's just something about a grumpy, single dad romance. I will always eat it up, they never fail. Landon and Elle were too stinking cute together, they may have started off so bumpy but I loved it. It was instant attraction, but not insta love and I liked how their relationship progressed throughout the book. I ate this book up. Read it in one sitting, like literally couldn't put it down.
Elle and Stella's relationship was so precious. I loved how Elle became a sort of mother figure for her without completely removing Reece's memory from the both of them. Their cooking lessons were so cute, like sign me up, I need to learn how to cook. I liked how she sort of helped Stella come out of her shell a little bit.
I'm glad we finally got a talk btwn Landon and Stella about Reece's death and the guilt that came with it. Their conversation made me tear up a little bit. I'm so glad that Luca pushed him to deal with the guilt properly and stop holding himself back from his relationship with Elle. Luca is the best twin for Landon, I find it so funny that they are polar opposites. Idk if I'm looking forward to Luca's book or if I will read it bc I don't really like second chances. I'm really not a fan of them.
Now Elle's family and ex-husband are pieces of actual shit. I hate them with ever fiber of my being. Elle is better than me bc I would've blocked them from the jump. I don't know why it took her so long to do it. Also I def wouldn't have paid off her sister's debt after that betrayal. I don't care if that meant that she'll die, she brought that on herself, but Elle is too nice and didn't want her sister to die. She better than me in that aspect, but I'm glad she finally removed them from her life and set that hard boundary.

What starts out as a bit of deception, Elle lays into Landon right from the start when that was exposed. But then what we get is something more deep. Elle and Landon have that connection right from the start, even with that little lie that had these two colliding. To me this story was more than just about the romance between a couple. It was about the connection that Elle develops with Stella. How much Landon had to come to terms with his haunting past that he just cannot let go until Elle enters his life. There is a lot of push and pull between these two. Even when things get more twisted thanks to Elle’s family which includes the recent ex husband, Landon stands beside her, being strong for her.
Overall, this was a great story that has raw emotions bleeding through the pages, a romance that is whirlwind, the chemistry was sizzling and the banter had me giggling all the time. I really enjoyed this one and how much we see Landon as a human and not some grump tough as nails kinda a guy that is solely focused on his daughter. I am really looking forward to what is to come with this family!

another great Fritz brother book!! I am happy Landon and Elle got their HEA because they have both been through so much that they deserved their life to start being happy together! Not my favorite out of the three I read but still a VERY good time. Landon and Elle both had my heart bleeding and I loved the relationship that Stella and Elle created!

I have said this many times with many of this author’s books, but this series especially each book is amazing. Well I am back to say it again, but this time I am saying this book and Landon is my favorite by far. Landon’s emotions and guilt are so real, so raw that as a reader you feel them deep in your soul. He carried so much on his shoulders that it ate away at him and he only lived for his daughter (Stella) so this made him this grumpy irritated at everything man. I didn’t blame him for his feelings because so much bad happened when he never meant the words he spoke, but sometimes fate has plans we never see coming. As a single father, doctor that comes from a very well known wealthy family he tries to live a simple life, as much as he can, works hard and loves his daughter but at times he gets lonely. When he goes out to scratch an itch he doesn’t expect to have his feelings flipped upside down by the gorgeous Elle. What leads to a one night stand turns into so much more when Elle not only turns out to be his new neighbor, but also Stella’s new teacher as well. With Landon trying to fight this feelings he hasn’t felt in a very long time he comes across as mean and angry towards Elle, but Elle being the sweetheart she is knows how to put him in his place which he ends up loving about her. Elle has her own emotional baggage that has sent her to find a new life. Coming from a horrible family and an ex husband who was verbally abusive she got out and is starting over but this thing with Landon throws her for a loop. These two would go back and forth that the tension was so strong and the steam so hot. I loved every second that they had between them and with so much of their past hurting them can they find a way to move forward or on? Elle and Stella’s friendship was such a sweet and fun thing that I also loved and I think that had a major part in turning Landon’s attitude over. With so much happening between them and the pain they carry will they be able to trust each other with their hearts or lose to the darkness of the past? This was a beautiful book about finding yourself, letting go of the past but never forgetting it, and trusting other’s again. Landon you stole my heart and I don’t want it back (just don’t tell Jasper Diamond, ok?) PS Luca I also love you because you make me laugh.
If you loved the first book, you’re going to love the second. Doctor Heartless was sensational from start to finish

I first came across J.Saman thanks to Grey’s Promotions last year via the second book in this series, Doctor Mistake. What drew me into that read was the accidental pregnancy trope—a controversial trope among many—, and although Doctor Heartless didn’t carry on that trope as a main theme or sub-theme, I wanted to follow the series on and see where this grumpy/sunshine, enemies-to-lovers, full of steam romance would take me.
The reader is in!
Before the plot/storyline had a chance to develop, the opening was off to a start with quite literally, a bang! Pun intended. Landon, aka ‘Doctor Heartless’, is quite the character! Pun, again, intended. Who we get to see in the opening to this novel is the polar opposite of the grumpy character we will see later on, but was as charming as he was at knocking my socks off! Cheeks we’re aflame and blushing wish vigour. Woah! J.Saman has written one hell of a beast in bed and I’m all here for it!
‘He pretended to be someone else, and I didn’t ask a lot of questions’.
This angle of secrecy is always something I love when it comes up in books. When one character knows something the other doesn’t, and decides to keep it either intentionally or not so intentionally, just does it for me. I love the sneaky suspense and/or drama it creates when it all comes to an explosive head. J.Saman wove some creative comedy into moments throughout the book when this came up as a topic between characters, providing lighthearted relief and many a side-eye glare from Elle. The moments that made me laugh definitely balanced the tenseness felt from the page, for sure. J.Saman knows how to give both the good and the bad (not literally bad, but those moments that leave us screaming at the page/screen, having us reach for our bookish tissues etc..), and showcase how her superb writing and it’s styles can create a truly unforgettable story.
Speaking of storyline, let’s talk about it here in Doctor Heartless (as much as one can without dropping a spoiler!).
There was so much packed into this novel and for a novel that was already 95K-word-strong read (which I love!), that is a true testament to the author. It doesn’t feel like you’re reading too much, or that there’s too much going on for you to process at all. Everything is just right and I was actually sad to swipe the last page closed. Landon, Elle and Landon’s daughter Stella were true joys to get to know and read about, I didn’t want the last page to come! I especially loved who J.Saman wrote Stella to be in terms of her sexuality. You’ll know when you read it for yourselves, but I’ve never read about a character at that age knowing herself to be who she feels she is, and the amount of respect and dignity given to the character and the topic was immensely commendable.
If you’re looking to start a brand new read and/or series, I would recommend Doctor Heartless. Go back and read the first two by all means, but this is my favourite of the series so far and I’m putting it on my Amazon paperback wishlist right now.
I’m thrilled that this is my first ever five star rating for J.Saman, and I hope that I can give many more well-deserved ones to her in the future!

Today, tomorrow, always.
I've started this review and walked away from it several times. There are only so many words to describe living in this written world with the Abbot-Fritz'. But in a single word it's, FAMILY.
I absolutely was so excited to get into Landon's story. The hottie cardiologist who lost his heart young and is raising the most beautiful version of that love in Stella. When Elle knew she needed a fresh start I'm not sure she envisioned Landon Fritz as that goal, but their chemistry from their first meeting is fire!
Landon being Landon, he makes life tense and on edge when he finds Elle is his new neighbor. To watch these two circle each other was everything I hoped this grumpy-sunshine book would be.
I'm not sure what it is with these Fritz men, but they have absolutely sinful mouths!

Oh Landon, you sad broken man. We know from the previous ones that he blames himself for his wife's death, we don't know any detail, but once we learn them, UGH! You just wanna shake him and tell him it's not his fault, just like his family is always trying to tell him.
Have I mentioned in any of these reviews how much I love the Fritz family, they're all so close and there for one another. J. Saman writes these families, and the found families they become for the women so well!
Elle is just perfect, she's stronger then she thinks, stands up for herself, and is just all around great.
