"He who fight monsters must take care that he doesn't become one himself."

Still in as much trauma from the climax as I had after the first read years ago. The heartbreak is as new as it felt then.

Finally ending the Alex Rider reread marathon so that I can start with the unread newer ones. This series still remains as close to my heart and my #1 recommendation for all.

For me this was the best story in the series so far. Not only was it packed with the usual vibrancy and action and witticism, but it packed an emotional punch too. It was everything the series has been so far twisted up to max.

Now of course, I know that after a while Anthony decided to carry on and has so far written two more books. But for the moment I am going to view this last one as if it is indeed the very last instalment of Alex Rider, the reluctant teenage spy... *sobs*
