This book was delightful. There really isn't any better way to describe it. I loved it. Wonderfully written. Charming.

The first 2/3 of the book is uneventful - lots of talking and not much else. Then the last 1/3 is crazysauce Drama. An odd combination.

I just didn’t care about the characters or how they ended up. It was fine but I was unimpressed.
slow-paced

I am WILD about Wilde in Love. Eloisa James did a fantastic job of creating fun, smart, and strong characters. Lord Wilde, an author/ explorer returns home to more fanfare than a modern day rock star. His image is plastered on the walls of girls and women everywhere. They travel to his estate to steal brick and flowers. There is even a sold out play about him called Wilde In Love.
Willa is a beauty with a brain. She's already turned down 14 suitors and doesn't intent to marry just any man - he must be smart, a good conversationalist and intensely private.
When the two meet the sparks fly! She ties to resist - he is everything she doesn't want. She yearns for privacy and his life is on display for all to see. The more she ignores him the more he wants her.
If the heat bestrewn these two isn't enough, throw in a spurned woman who fancies herself in love with Lord Wilde to the point of being dangerous.
Since this is just book 1 in the series, I see many more Wilde tales in my future.

if the book had better writing and less misogyny, i might have truly enjoyed it, as the bones of the story were enjoyable. but far too many references to pillaging mouths and women as possessions. woof.
