Ridiculous and exactly what you would expect

Having never read Eloise James before ( I know, she’s like a classic of the romance genre) but this is my first novel by her.

SadlyIt just slightly bored me, I wasn't captured by the writing nor the characters.I didn’t quite understand why Willa was so captivating- yes she was unfazed by events but she wasn’t overly kind or likeable. Alaric liking her was unusual.

The bogs. The Georgian history tour very much liked but the characters so-so. I do think Diana and Norths story intrigued me and I will read it along with Lavernia and Perth’s ( enemies to lover?) perhaps even Katie’s story but a lacklustre beginning.

What a delight!!  I could fall in love with Alaric Wilde!  And despite the fact that Sweetpea is a skunk, she sounds adorable.
lighthearted fast-paced

I’m not going to lie, I bought this book for two reasons: 1. I’ve never read an Eloise James book and everyone was raving about her so I had to read at least one of her books. (Spoiler alert- I loved this book so much I must now read everything she’s every written)
2. It has a Stepback and I was mesmerized and had to have it!
I’m so, so, so glad I read this book. I’m definitely Wilde in Love with the Wilde family. This book was so good! It had everything I wanted, a little “fake dating”, a main man who falls first, supporting characters that I couldn’t get enough of, a very odd gift and so much drama! That drama snuck up on me too, I mean I knew something was going to happen with the bog but wow!
I now regret not buying the whole series when I saw it. I’ll be on the search for Too Wilde To Wed with Stepback! Is North going to make it back? What is up with Diana? What the actual hell is happening with them? Also, Lavinia and Parth are everything and if I weren’t a stickler for going in order I’d rush to read their story next!

It really drags, and I didn't really feel attached to anyone? Idk I don't this is story is for me

Being boring is way worse than being bad and this was just unspeakably dull. I liked Willa a lot in theory and I tolerated Alaric in theory but in execution..... snoozefest.
