I got the audiobook, so I decided to see what all the hype was about and why it had so many 1-star reviews. The first part I liked it, I was thinking ok, this guy it´s not so bad, kind of instalove but I could get pass it then this son of the bitch gets her evicted! evicted!! , especially when we learn at the beginning everything she went through, I wanted to dnfed right then and there, but silly me continued waiting for some redeeming quality from him. He gets her fired, blackmailing her boss ( same way he got a date with her at first) because he wants to take care of her, even though he knows she hates depending on someone else. The cherry on top is when she tries to leave, and he kidnaps her, but they get married in the end, so yeah, he´s not so different from his father, throwing money around and blackmailing people to get his way.

this guy is fucking INSANE and it’s so scary how obsessed some of the readers are over him
I tried all four books in this series and could not finish one of them. I like dark romance, I like morally grey, I can even like the bad guy gets the girl trope but this was just unhinged and way too stalkerish for my tastes.

DNF. Too much traumatic events happening right off the bat. The story also doesn’t kind of make sense. Like since when where there pick pocketers in Dallas. And with her having a history of guys being weird, obsessive, and sa-ing her, it doesn’t make sense that she is so quick on board with Lincoln or feel something for him that fast over some text messages. Like it doesn’t feel realistic.
