I often times find it so difficult to fight the good fight of not judging grown women for wild decisions. However sometimes exceptions have to be made, and I think this calls for that moment. I wanted to like it. It was a smooth read. It read well, like the style and description to dialogue ratio was perfect.
Where it lost me tho was in everything else. Lincoln didn’t start bad …but he damn sure didn’t start good. I…. am maybe missing a piece of my frontal lobe because I’m lost for the romance part. I’m severely lost for the swoon some of girlies made it seem like I’d feel based on other reviews. Plus calling him morally grey is a real loose term! I’m a dark romance girlie, (albeit not as dark as some) I’ve read Butcher and Blackbird for Christmas sake but when I tell you I have a beef with Monroe that not even the book gods could fix. I didn’t care for her, Linc barely worked for it in my opinion. Sister had a moment once every hundred pages where she showed me a glimpse of hope. I’m a fan of strong female MC’s in dark romance and she was strong but not in the way I needed. Also, not to spoil anything but no way I had read 300 pages for the author to speed through the wrap up and then think two epilogues was gonna do it…. Girl bye
Pros:
The college tuition scene
Jumping the creeps
Hockey (although I questioned if the author even watches it)
I can’t lie some of the dialogue was juicy i did kick my feet a lil
Cons:
Is he a hockey player or a mafia boss sister
The anklet at the end
Monroes lack of awareness
The vanity in Linc

Everyone wants a man as obsessed with them as Lincoln is Monroe. He says one line that really stuck with me—He tells her that he will live for her. I think that is a super powerful statement but I am also a little deranged.
The voice actors were perfectly matched for these characters. They did an amazing job.

I wish I did not wait so long to read this. This was sitting on my tbr list for about a year or longer. Halfway through I went out and bought the second book. Spicy rating I would give it a 3/5.
4.75/5 Well...wow. I didn't know what to think going into this book. I was all for Lincoln and Monroe..then I wasn't and then I was again. I apparently have a thing for ignoring red flags

Holy shit y'all.
This is one wild ride. Where Pucking Around by Rath was sugar and nice and all things spice... this is a whole new level. Jane said HAH hold my hockey stick and watch this.
The momentum starts at the beginning of the story and just doesn't let up.
We've got stalking, obsession, borderline Stalkholm Syndrome, nc sedation, a family so toxic it makes the Dursley's from Harry Potter look like fricken saints, blackmail -- laides and gents we have it all and LOVE It.
The way it was written, nothing is out of place, nothing seems jumbled or haphazardly thrown it to get more word count. This is a very well thought out story, and I am excited to read the small Novela that was kind of adjacent to this book.

It was an ok book. I was mainly skimming the book as it was giving very wattpad which is not a bad thing but not my cup of tea anymore. Also very smutty which I expected but not right from the beginning.
And the prize for the most delulu MMC goes to Lincoln cause holy shit, this man truly manifested lmao
