This book is as bad I thought it would be but at least I finished it. The characters ?? Relationship ?? What was that ? Oh she has a crush on him he hates her two seconds later he saves her now they love each other ??? Okayyy what’s up with the parents never being home thing ,, that’s obnoxious and over done. There wasn’t really a plot until like half way through the damn book ... and why was vee such a terrible friend ? Lots of questions maybe I’ll read the next book bc I really wanna know how you build up from all that.

Originally on From Book to Hooked.

So, it would seem that there are quite a number of people who don't like this book. Aside from a slight annoyance with Nora at times, I really liked Hush, Hush. It was a quick read for me.

The plot for this book was so twisty it was insane! When the hot, new boy, Patch, enters Nora's life, knowing everything about her and showing up everywhere, Nora can't help but be drawn to him. When she suspects he's not quite human, she finds herself wrapped up in a world she never knew exsisted and a battle between the immortal and the fallen.

Beside my issue with Nora, I did frequently have the, "Oh, gosh. I'm reading Twilight with angels" moment. There are a few similarities. Maybe more than a few. For one thing, Patch and Nora are partners in Biology, which sounds familiar. Patch was also a little bit of a stalker, but he was hot so Nora didn't mind. That sounds familiar, too. Hmmm... Still, even with the similarities, it wasn't Twilight. Not really.

Nora was not my favorite character. Nope. She annoyed me often, and was a little... dense? Patch kind of straight up told her he wanted to kill her and that he wasn't human... but she still had doubts about it. I was having a screaming fit throughout half of the book. Those are always fun times especially when you're around large groups of people... Nora is, however, a rare character in that she's not totally focused on having a relationship. While there was a romance in the book, it wasn't completely central to what was happening.

Patch was a little creepy to me, but when Fitzpatrick started showing us more of the human side of his character I liked him more. He is like the epitome of bad boys. He's cocky, arrogant, obnoxious, and maybe a little rude, but by the end you could see there is something redeemable in him. As far as the villian of this book goes, I was suspicious of him since he was first brought into the story. I didn't have a hard time unraveling the mystery in this novel.

So, as far as a debut novel goes, Hush, Hush is pretty good. I loved this book, and am sufficiently reeled in and ready for a sequel.

well well well… this book just aged like milk i guess
i don’t know if i would have liked it if i read it earlier, but as of right now this was a total mess: i’ll call it the villain origin story of romantasy. the characters were extremely unlikeable (i rolled my eyes so much during dialogues and scenes that they started to physically hurt) and the plot didn’t ACTUALLY show up until page 300 (yeah! this book is 391 pages long!).
the plot, for the very little we saw (so when we stopped focusing so much on boys and sex and talks about boys&sex) was actually very cool and interesting!! i loved the ending part, genuinely… even got me wondering if i want to continue this series out of pure curiosity. we’ll see i guess…

This is the second time I've read this book. Truly enjoyed it.

I liked this book well enough at first, though there was an underlying vibe that bothered me. Then I accidentally got sucked into reading a few reviews on it (something I usually avoid so as not to spoil anything and form my own opinion) and unfortunately it was all downhill from there! The good-girl falls for bad-boy storyline is a classic but just not pulled off well here at all. Nora came across like one of those idiot girls in horror flicks who make so many ridiculously bad choices that by the end, you're kinda hoping she will lose.

not so bad i guess

Not the best of books but I understand why my 16 year old self got obessed with Patch Cipriano. and I'm so re reading the rest of the series
