Hush, Hush

There are a lot of things wrong done in this book. One of them is the main character and her best friend (although with friends like that who needs enemies), both were the dumbest I've ever read in a while.

Nora was soo... so... sooooo... idiotic? Or just plain stupid. Her decisions, most of the time, were like...

Or

Or

I cannot believe her mother left her alone so often. I don't know if she was also stupid or just completely oblivious of her daughter's inability to make rational decisions.

Anyway, the story about nephilim, fallen angels and blablabla may have been interesting enough to keep going with the series, but the characters annoyed the hell out of me (except, perhaps Patch, but only for short periods of time, when he wasn't being cocky or a jerk), so I'm not coming back to Coldwater... ever ¬¬

Annoying, confusing, frustrating. I'm 70% through the first book and I still have no idea what the hell's going on. I've been struggling the entire book to keep going. I'm going to finish it, but I have a feeling I'm not going to finish the entire series.
The FMC is that super annoying girl you hate because she's clearly walking herself into danger every step of the way. She's like 'I can feel somebody watching me, just like I felt someone watching me in every single one of these other dangerous situations I've been in so far which turned out badly, so hold on a second let me walk through these dark alleyways all alone while I'm out here investigating this guy who's been following me around and threatening me. The same guy who was suspected of murdering a girl 2 months ago'

And don't get me started on what a shitty friend Vee is! I can't stand her!

There is not 1 character I like so far.

I'd rather read Twilight than this.

Follows the same trope of the Twilight era. Not bad. Comfortable. Easy read. Would recommend. Don't intend to continue the series.

i'm so excited to read the others. i hope they are just as good.

Re-reading 10 years later because I was curious as to why I was so obsessed with this series back then. Not sure I’ll be reading the rest, but I was decently entertained.
