OMG it is a fabulous book, seriously I love that Book and I love Becca too.
Okay... so... Twilight rip-off number 2045; except it's slightly better than Twilight and it doesn't exactly involve vampires (if you look at the cover you'll find out exactly what it's about. It's a pretty big spoiler right there).
It didn't convince me. The story was all over the place and frankly I didn't think the supernatural references were well used in this book (basically I expected Angels and Fallen Angels to be more complex and less human-like). Nora was reeeeally annoying and sometimes so idiotic in her actions I just wanted to scream and throw the book at the wall. And Patch... oh dear, Patch... I get that the author was trying for "bad boy" him being what he was, but she definitely didn't pull it of. Patch was a walking stereotype of "tall, dark and/or brooding and handsome". Again, I mention Twilight... and Edward... or any other male lead from any other Twilight rip-off around (and there are oh-so-many). Their relationship was the very essence of dysfunctional.
Another series I'm not going to be following. What's with the weird trend of "very-old-supernatural-creature-falls-in-love-with teenage-girl" anyway? I really don't see the appeal. :p

3.5 stars. Very Cassandra Clare reminiscent- a little cheesy, predictable but interesting plot and looking forward to the next book in the series.

Very much a product of its time. Complete obsession of the most boring human girl by an eternal being. Insta love despite a million and a half red flags and warnings. Terrible friends that are somehow just made to look like that’s normal. Very weird decisions teenagers would never make. Yaaaaa, it ain’t it.
Superhuman boy falls in love with mortal girl. The story is familiar enough but Becca Fitzpatrick weaves it in a direction to make it all her own. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
well fuck I'd be lying if this wasn't a quality YA trash book that I thoroughly enjoyed.
It felt like reading twilight all over again for the first time and I. L O V E D. IT. so much.
Yes, there are parts that I don't like at all, like the defenseless female who needs saved by a man-_- my hope is that Nora will learn to BETTER defend herself, and she'll train with Vee.
I didn't like Patch's lying and all of his conversations. Some specific lines just jumped out at as irritating and sexist. but despite it, FUCK I LIKE HIM. I hate myself for liking him so much, even though he stalked Nora, overstepped her boundaries, and made her feel uncomfortable or like she was going crazy for some of the things she experienced.
Also, when did they fall in love????
They more development before I 100% support, and no secrets.
I know something bad happens at the end of Crescendo (bk 2) so it'll probably be vaguely new moon-ish, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Creepy.
The male protagonist was obsessive, stalkerish and generally gave me the creeps. I kept expecting him to secretly be against her or something. I kept expecting him to kill her.
