Infuriating. Way too much plotting in the first 3/4, so much that I started skimming large portions. I understand the choice of Gal for narrator of this book, but it was difficult to follow the twists and turns of his logic and loyalties. Once again, though, I’m going to do the masochistic thing and check out the next (and final) book. The last 50-ish pages were engaging enough to make me remember the high points of BONDS OF BRASS. So. Once more into the fray. I will probably regret it.

Okay????!???
I don’t know, man. I don’t even know AT ALL.
It must be stated that this book is not even 20% as romantic as Bonds of Brass. That book was some straight-outta-fanfic ROMANCE. I think I even mentioned in my review of BoB that the sci-fi world-building was kind of just window dressing.
Well, not so in Oaths of Legacy! Oof, this book is plot, plot, plot - and the space empire storyline goes from window dressing to like… the whole point…
Did I like it? Yeah, I GUESS but lord… it was not what I expected my dudes. This was like… basically a bunch of world-building re: the competing philosophies of space empire.
I am extremely ready for the next book but like. Wow. Idk. I am conflicted about the plot. I am not even at all conflicted about finding out what’s gonna happen to Gal and Ettian though so catch me back here when book 3 comes out!

Most of the story is slow going and it became repetitive to hear Gal whining, but the ending sets up an interesting plot and makes me interested in the next book
