Just...whoa.

A beautiful expansion of a beloved character. Ahsoka Tano is one of the most fully realized and exciting characters in the greater Star Wars canon, and E.K. Johnson captures her essence, adding all manner of adventure and poignancy alike to her history. Essential reading for anyone who cares even the slightest for Snips.

Re read this, or should I say listened in audio. A different experience and a better one with Ashley Eckstein reading it giving a great element to the prose, however, it still ultimately doesn’t do much for the wider story and feels very… safe.

4/5 Stars

I fell absolutely in love with Ahsoka Tano while watching Clone Wars and knew I had to pick up any written adventure of hers to fill in the missing pieces of her life in canon. Working in between major plot points, E.K. Johnston does a great job of bringing this beloved character to the page and creating a narrative befitting the scope of the galaxy. On the run after Order 66, Ahsoka struggles to trust others and maintains distance from the larger world and I appreciated the inner monologue delving into her thoughts. Overall this one didn't blow me away but I really really enjoyed it.
adventurous fast-paced

GOD. she is a girl kisser (REAL).

this was so good. loved getting inside ahsoka’s mind and those references… i joined the clones.

it was alright, but the writing style was pretty bland. it was just underwhelming in general for a story set in the star wars universe (let alone one focusing on such an interesting character). i don’t know if it’s just my general mindset lately, but i found i was forcing myself to keep picking this up.

this ain’t it, chief.

Ahsoka is one of my favorite characters in the SWU. Reading this made me appreciate her story more. I’m so excited for her show to come out! This book was pretty solid, fast paced and had a few cameos from some lovable characters. We also get a look at the first start of the inquisitors when no one knows who they are yet.

Enjoyable

SPOILERS:

This book is basically one long story on the history of Ahsokas lightsabers. The book wasn't bad it was just kind of basic. The thrawn and captain phasma books I've read were better in my opinion but this is just another peek into the star wars universe. Can't wait for the show though
