What a delight of a book! Still another one to remind me why I love Kate Atkinson's writing so much. This piece of historical fiction set in 1920's London has a motley cast of characters who bounce in and out of each other's lives in the manner of a screwball comedy, while never losing sight of the fact that much in their lives is absolutely tragic. Couldn't put it down.

I really enjoyed this - it was an entertaining and fast paced read. The time period felt well researched, the plot was really fun (with emotional and dark elements too) and the writing is fantastic. I loved every second of reading this.

I thought I might not like this book, given the multiply threaded narrative and timeline. In fact, I found it enchanting, creative, and totally readable. It's a fresh and exciting approach to historical fiction. And it's very funny.

It’s really well written and very interesting esp so due to being well researched and historically accurate.
Not sure

This had so much promise but never came through. The ending completely unraveled and sunk it for me. Ugh. So disappointed as I usually love her books.
